There is so much to say about this kid that I don't really know where to start! I saw a facebook post about his dam years ago and immediately reached out to the breeder to be put on the list for a buck. It was a long list, and after a few years... I forgot about it! Lol. When she came to mind, I contacted Donna to see where I was in the scheme of things, and low and behold, I was next! Mazy (Amazing) had a single buck kid...HOW LUCKY IS THAT?! Tragically, Mazy passed away only a few short months later. I feel so blessed to have her son on my farm.
Mazy was an exceptional doe. Her breeder said this about her: "Mazy is an incredibly dairy doe, she is sharp, angular, long and lean. She has a well attached, very capacious mammary system that milks down to nothing and has notable height of rear udder as well. Mazy peaked at just over 6lbs of milk per day during her 2018 lactation, and finished with milking 1,220lbs of milk in a mere 260 days". She scored 42 in rear udder height! She also passed these qualities on to her daughters and has several with scores 90 and above.
When I saw that Mazy was bred to Count, I was beyond excited! He has produced some of the nicest does in the Nigerian world. Like Mazy, his progeny is very, VERY CONSISTENT! He has several daughters with 92 LA scores, and he is the current (2024) breed leader in RUH and tied for second in RUA! Togther Mazy and Count have MANY finished champion kids. Needless to say, I have very high hopes for what this young buck will bring to the Grace Ridge herd!
